Chlorine is a fast acting sanitizer in water to disinfect, sanitize, and deliver clean fresh water, with minimal additions. We recommend 2oz of chlorine 2x per week for most spas, but always test your hot tub water with test strips for proper balance before use.
Optimal chlorine level are between 3 and 5 ppm. If you have alternative sanitizers like ozone, UV , or mineral sanitation you can reduce that recommendation.
Whenever you add chlorine to your hot tub, run the jets on high speed for 10 minutes. It is then very important to stay out of your spa for at least 2 hours as your chlorine levels will be elevated too high for use.
