Our Pools are Built Tough! Find Out How
At Precision Pool Construction we are always looking to design and build the next evolution of the vinyl liner in-ground pool. At this new project we just started in Danvers Massachusetts we get to do just that. At first glance it is just a traditional rectangle pool with a deep end radius bench seat. But we couldn’t build just any old rectangle, no, this is an 18’x41′ pool with a 6′ sundeck/pool step at the front.

What is a sundeck you ask? Well they were made popular by gunite pool builders who wanted to design a section of the pool where owners could sit in a shallow body of water and take in the sun, and actually set chairs on. Recently we have had a few people ask us if we could recreate this seat in a vinyl liner pool. So we of course answered the call. What we designed was a 12′ deep 6′ wide step which we build with a steel frame filled in with crushed stone and finished with 3″ of concrete. After this the liner is made with a special stair grade traction vinyl that is extra thick so it is not slippery. This will also be able to withstand the pressure from beach chairs our customer may want to bring into the pool with her. You would only want to use a chair with a horizontal full length support, not one with legs of course on the vinyl.
In the video below you will get a glimpse of this sundeck as well as the rest of this pool under construction. Sean brings us through the plumbing of our in-floor cleaning system, as well as the pools concrete pour and all that all goes down.
